I think I will take it easy this time. Just public servers and no clan involvement.

I'm not young anymore. Peak of my skills was long before BF2. I used to have a natural talent to online gaming. In BF2 was not too bad but I already felt that my reflexes and concentration were not as they used to be. Before BF2 I used to play vs myself looking for that little bit of improvement every time not vs my opponents as I couldn't find a worthy opponents. But back in those days I could play 16 hours a day without being tired. Those days are over, even in BF2 I was nowhere near that.
It can be because I was never lucky with BF2 clans, I always managed to join a random bunch of talentless players or bunch of whiners and pussies.. every time for one of those reasons I felt I wanted to leave. Back in good days (before BF2) I was a member of one of the top clans with skilled players with a honour code, no pussy players.. no whiners with stupid rules on their server, people taking the game as it is and dominating it. People who were making you want to play all the time. I couldn't find a clan like that in BF2 and was always unhappy about it.

But now.. I'm a husband and.. dad.. I have family life as my priority. I think I'll play evenings purely for fun.

So what are your plans? Clans? Clan wars? Stat padding? haha

I expect to mildly enjoy it for a couple days, realize it sucks after a week, play semi-regularly for about a month, uninstall and then reinstall some 6 months later somehow thinking it wasn't as bad as I remember.

I played only BF2, and I liked it from day 1.. never bothered to play anything on the way to BF3

I have quite high expectations. I hope I won't get disappointed with the game. I'm going to spend hundreds of pounds on new PC components to make BF3 work in full details/best quality. My PC needs to be upgraded anyway. I'm still on BF2 machine from 2005 (I spent £1500 to build that one) xD

All that only to play for fun haha

I just hope that BF3 will bring back together all of my buddies of bf2s EU and we will have a great fun just by playing as a team and trolling TS. That was the beauty of BF2, joining a squad with your mates or just random people and pushing for team and victory. Your rank and stats didn't matter, neither your skill.

I hope BF3 will not be another "just money making project" like CoD.

This is indeed the most important thing to me. Always so much fun when you actually had an organized squad or two amongst the chaos of 64 players.

sometimes in bf2 i would join a random squad, slowly get the squad talking on chat and eventually we would just shoot the shit while playing.

half the time was laughing at other players / their dumb names (lol 'squirrelhumper') and the other half we would be competitive but not to the point where we ever got mad at each other for doing something ridiculous.

unsurprisingly our squad (including personal k:d, spm, etc.) would do much better (not that anybody really cared at that point).
