And Slovakia was fully part of Hungary. Thats why today there are 500k Hungarians on the other side of the border.

So Israel has right to occupie another country and send the people to tent camps. Palestine has a right to exist! If Israel would carpet bomb the Gaza strip and mass murder the palestinians there i bet nobody would mention a war crime. They can do what they want, and everyone who disagrees gets the antimesmite stamp.

Israel was created on Palestinian land! They also occupied a lot more land what they actually "got" from the UN in 1947.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nat … _Palestine

Why all the hate? Why dont they stop all the agression? Israel should fall back from the occupied land!
Yes...why all the hate, venom?

Obama...like every US president since Carter (if not earlier) supports a two-state solution. As does the PA. As does Israel. As does most of the rest of the world (minus a few extremist holdouts). They just disagree as to whether this particular tactic is the best method to achieve that end goal. Fully supporting Israel on this is fully supporting a two-state solution...which is also supporting the PA's ultimate goal, as well.

Borders change based on geopolitical realities. That's why direct negotiations need to happen. Worked out really well the last time the UN just declared something over there, didn't it?
Israel does not support a two state solution, they support a one state solution - Israel
They're endlessly stalling, there is no plan for a two state solution and no plan for honest negotiations, this is the Palestinians only option.
They'll be happy to keep fooling the US and failing to meet the obligations they've already signed up to.

Every nation was the result of conquest at some point. Look at the history of England. At first it belonged to the Celts and Picts, then the Romans conquered them, then the Vikings, then the Normans. Since the Celts were there first, they have the right of primacy, no?

France was Celtic too, but was overrun by the Romans and then the Germanic Franks. Who knows where the Germans originated? 150 years ago, Germany didn't even exist. Should Bavaria go back to being an independent country? Hannover too? Should Holstein and the other half of Schleswig be returned to Denmark?

Point is, borders have never been static at any point in human history. History is largely the tale of migrations over time. What we have today are simply political borders without much meaning. Because of this, Israel has as much right as any other nation to exist. The fact that the Palestinians controlled the territory (nominally, since they were subject to the UK) before Israel's creation is irrelevant. Poland hadn't existed for sixty years before it was reconstituted after WWI. Greece goes back even further. So does the rest of the Baltic, including venom's Hungary.

Israel is an artificial construct? So is every other nation. Deal with it.

That's better. ~450 years is decent I guess. But still, in the scope of all humanity that is only a short instance.

Land should always be subject to a change in it's inhabitants. It is the way of the world. Events like the current conflict are natural and should take their course. But to suggest that history has given one people or another a right to a land is ridiculous. We can know when an occupation or conquest is morally wrong, but to try to stop those events from occurring would mean a cessation of humanity.

Let it fall because you can't come up with a reason why the comparison is invalid. Good one, Chief.

Every nation in the middle east has borders set artificially.
Most by arbitrary western decree in the first half of the 20th century.

None of those borders are 'correct', in terms of tribal, ethnic, or religious boundaries.
But they are an existing demarcation line.
A starting place for determining 'ours' versus 'theirs'.
'It ain't right, but it's what we got' so to speak.

If the existing line can't be agreed upon by the people on either side of it, then it gets changed.
Diplomacy, warfare, civil war, or splitting the country into multiple nations.

Regarding Israel & Palestine, I think the whole issue of a Palestinian state is more of an excuse to stick it to the Jews.
If the Arabic neighbors really wanted a home for their 'brothers', Palestine would include land from Syria and Jordan.
Y'know, the ancient canaanite boundaries, if you're really wanting to dredge up ancient precedent for 'what's fair'..

I think the Arabic neighbors are perfectly content to use the Palestinians as proxy fodder against the Israelis.
A working two state solution will always be sabotaged by those shoveling money into Palestine as proxy fighters.

The Israeli and Palestine people have been fighting forever. Why is it the place of the US to get involved. We have enough on our plate already without having to babysit these two greedly little countries. Work it out yourselves or kill each other off. Either way the US shouldn't give a damn.

Proxy war.
Saud & Company through Palestinians, West through Israel.

And, personally,
If I had to choose between Israel disappearing or the entire rest of the middle east sinking under 100 feet of sea water,
I'd save Israel.

A constant stream of kvetching while they work,
or a constant stream of InshAllah to explain why they won't work.

But that's me personally.
I have been accused of being an asshole, from time to time.
