More elaborately, throughout their career, has Iron Maiden been considered to be mainstream music. Not mainstream metal, but mainstream music.

well let's consider the reason why I made this thread: To determine what Iron Maiden's stature is in the United States.

Of course Iron Maiden is bigger in Europe and Britain, they are from Europe and Britain.

What I wanted to know is whether they are considered to be mainstream in the United States.

You can comment, it's just that I would prefer it to be related to Iron Maiden's stature in the US

Based on the stats I mentioned above, I'd say that they are mainstream in the US too. Clearly not as successful in the US compared to Europe, but they've still charted and have sold vast quantities of records.

Record sales does not necessarily reflect mainstream-ness, IM could just have a large fanbase. Radio plays seem to be low.
