Don't know if it was said, But ever time you replace your brakes you MUST either replace of cut the rooter. If you don't you're just throwing your money away on the new brakes for they'll get groves in them to the old rooter.

Man you guys are lucky with your $75 pads.

Try $600-1000 for pads/rotors on for size.

It could well just be that they need to bed in. So go somewhere where you can get up some speed and do some heavy breaking, and I'd imagine that it'll go away.
That's not a good way to bed in your brakes.

You're supposed to do it gently and not do any sharp braking for the first 100 miles or so.

Plus it´s rather unsafe due to the brakes not having full potential.

I have the same thing going on.. same make and model vehicle. I changed my pads two months ago. Its not crazy loud, but it's definitely there when I brake. It's only been doing it for a few days. Hopefully it will dissipate.

Could be, I don't drive. That's just what I do when I put new pads on my bike, long hill where I can drag the brakes a lot.

Original pads never squeaked. I changed them with plenty left because a friend of the family (a mechanic) looked at them and said they were glassed over and should be replaced.

Depends, and probably isn't that big a deal either way.

But some pads the break in procedure tells you to brake hard.

From the HAWK box right in front of me...
1.) After installing new brake pads make 6 to 10 stops from approximately 30-35mph applying moderate pressure.
2.) Make an additional 2 to 3 hard stops from approximately 40 to 45 mph
3.) DO NOT DRAG BRAKES
4.) Allow 15 minutes for brake system to cool down.
5.) After step 4 your new pads are ready for use

Agreed. The pad will vibrate on the piston and cause noise. I always use it.

Meh, in all the brake job ive done so far, never had to use this stuff. Just make sure the rotor are not all stripped, but some good pad in the caliper....Enjoy!

If you buy shit pad, its normal for them to squeal, in this case you might need that little red stuff bottle.
