In no particular order.
- Crysis (It has amazing physics, graphics and gameplay. The downside? You need an ub3r-gaming rig to run it properly.)
- Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare (Good graphics, good story line, amazing gameplay. Downside is it's noobish audience online.)
- Left for Dead (Managed to put the words "Teamplay" and "Fun" together in one awesome action packed zombie killing game. Downside is no storyline campaign.)
- Battlefield series (Amazing gameplay, very fun and still going strong, no downside, it's still in the top ten most played games)
- ArmA 2 (Brings realism to the PC gamers with an extremely fun Warfare mode. Downside? God like AI with an engine that sucks up all the energy you PC can muster.)
- Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (Total crap game, but it broke sales records and it's extremely popular)
- Brothers in Arms Hell's Highway (Finally some decent graphics for this game, along with fun gameplay and a great strategy game. The story also rocks)
- Grid (Amazing graphics, awesome cars, tons of race tracks. Downside being not enough music, the engines don't sound powerful and they could have added tons of more races. More like The Fast and Furious movies.)
I can't think of ten.
And the biggest epic fail of the year is.....drum roll please...drrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising
This game promised so much and didn't deliver. It was 9th place of most played games the first couple of days it came out, and now it's down in the 50s. This game was a total absolute definition of FAIL.
