Maybe they just know how to manipulate their consumer base of genetic mistakes into buying terrible games.Finray wrote:

I wanted to punch that IW guy's face in whenever he said it would be better for the casual player. Just because you don't play with a rock up your ass doesn't mean you don't want to be able to find a server that you can be near sure you will have fun on. With IWNet, you have no clue what is going to happen when it tries to pick a server for you.Hallvard wrote:
I just finished listening to the almost 3 hour long webcast. Sad news for pc gaming.
I think I'll just get the game in alternative ways for the singleplayer and screw the multiplayer. CoD4's multiplayer is still good. Was looking foreward to all the goodies in mw2 thou, but that can be implemented by modders.
Also FC2 had matchmaking, hell it was one up on CoD4 2: EB as in FC2 the server you were being match-made to could at least be a dedi. From the like 3 times I played that game's MP, the non-dedis were lag zilla and the dedis, well the game sucked either way but at-least your guns would hit things more than half the time.
Non-dedicated servers are a relic, they've been outdated since the late 1990's, the reason multiplayer has been able to expand in a large enough amount that it has become the main reason people buy certain games is because of dedicated servers. And for that asshole to say that people are better without them, he must have never played a PC game in his life.
Actually given the amount of backlash on the IW forums, I think that they won't be able to recover from this shit storm. Sure there will be people who will buy it for SP, and those out of the loop who don't realize what they are getting into, especially because there won't be a demo or beta, they will buy the game. But this is really going to do a huge number of their sales.Miggle wrote:

It's total shitstorm, borderline hilarious to read people's comments and self-contradicting arguments.krazed wrote:
the IW forum really don't seem to be a very happy place right now lol
For the bulk of CoD console gamers, this is true; too many people like specialist who just suck IW's ball sac all the way to the grave.Miggle wrote:

This. I am still playing Cod4 daily and I am still entertained. Mostly because my clan has recently started some Promod competition play and it is loads of fun. ALSO mods will go bye bye with no dedicated servers, so fuck that.AussieReaper wrote:
If there is no dedicated servers, apart from the usual problems, it attracts piracy. For the plain and simple reason, all that is offered is a single player game with shit MP.
If you want ppl to buy your game, focus on MP, where the re-playability comes from.
I was going to buy this game for the MP experience. Without dedicated servers I won't buy it. Cod4 will remain the better game of the two.
I signed even though I don't use my PC for gaming anymore. (More like I don't have a PC that can play any of my games)Miggle wrote:
