I don't think they're loaded questions since there is a choice of 4 measures of agree or disagreement for each one. Maybe many of them could equate to what a 'typical' e.g., liberal thinks but so what? Just put disagree if ya disagree with it. Simple. Why are some of you calling economy right economy conservative? AFAIK a right economy means private owned banks, lots of irresponsible loans, etc.

No, the banks lent more than they had because they knew they had government backing. They took greater risks because they knew they had a federal safety net. A bank on it's own with no safety net will be very religious about checking out who they are lending to and are in fact very conservative. The US government wants the banks to play fast and loose so that easy credit is available. When more people are homeowners they tend to vote for whoever helped them get that easy credit. Well, in the US maybe, not in Iceland. The banks loaned like idiots, then failed, the government did bail them out, but the dirtbags who owned the banks who KNEW the banks would fail and still kept on going, had already moved all their ill gained money out of the country and bailed out of the country themselves.
People not being able to pay wasn't the problem here, it was the banks investing in themselves and other companies run by the owners and their close friends with money that didn't exist. Made it all look extremely well and profiting on the outside, but there was no money on the inside, and in that situation the banks were doomed to fail.
