Thanks to jailbreaking you can actually run flash on ios. Hell, using the touch keyboard isn't that bad. With a bit of practice you can type damn fast. But it is a device for people who already own multiple full featured PCs. Something to troll with when you're too lazy to get out of bed and fetch your laptop.

Yeah I know you can get Flash on it, and there's unsigned apps for doing just that, but that's not the way it was 'meant' to be used, and you can use flash on a netbook, even a mac, without having to do anything aside from download the program.

Fair enough if you've got a couple of computers, and a bit of extra cash, why not have one. But for people who think they can replace netbooks or laptops with them?

And I was 'facewalling' at the fact that my mate there thought having to download flash was anything like iPad not natively supporting it.

Fair enough. It is a gadget, a fun and even useful gadget, but it can't replace a serious work machine.

When I have to do real work (i.e. write incredibly long word documents) my thinkpad is the way to go. No frills, serious work machine. For lazily checking emails, posting god knows what or reading the tubes from the comfort of my bed, the couch or some coffee place, the iPad is a decent choice.

not very much probably, if you may buy a higher res monitor while still using the card, get the 1gb though.

Get the 1GB. The difference in price is negligible. I got the 1GB and the differences in frame rates were enough to make me pony up the extra dough.

The 6xxx cards that replace the 5850 and 5830 aren't worth it, though. They didn't even beat the Nvidia cards at much of anything. Find a nice 460 1GB, there are plenty of OC options and custom cooler options out there that you really shouldn't have any issues finding one for the right price.

if it weren't for the fact my C2D worked fine for what i do . . . you don't have to stay on the bleeding edge, but that build should be future proof for awhile.

Ok so now that the 6xxx series is out i'm looking at buying a new video card, to upgrade from my 1GB HD4870. Looking at the prices I am considering buying 2 HD6870's. Reckon this would be worth it? or am I better off waiting for the top end cards to come out?

On second thought I think i'll just wait for the top end cards. While the price of the 6870 is good, the performance isn't fantastic and I'm generally a fan of single card solutions.

If the price is right I might upgrade, though I think I will wait untill the next generation of CPUs and do a full new system then :]

EDIT: @ uzi.

I really don't need anything better, its just a hobby. I have the money to spend (for the first time ever lol) and I just feel like spending it on this . I'm not going to try an actually justify it, because thats pretty much impossible haha (other than having the biggest epenis)
