Well last night I left my friends on my computer while I KO'd on the sofa.

Now my computer won't turn on. Nothing comes up on the screen and the computer is going beeeeep beep beep beep every 6 seconds or so. (One long beep and 3 short beeps).

Specs: Asus P5B-Plus
E6600
8800 GTS 640mb
Windows vista 32 bit
6gb ram (yeah i know can't utilise it all blah blah)

But seriously wtf is with the beeps.

Edit: I should point out that my friends are addicted to 4chan

I can't find anything in it about the beeps.

I left it about 15 minutes and the beeps changed. I tried turning it off again with the power button and it worked. This time its let me get as far as the start windows normally screen. I selected safe mode. Then it loaded windows files now the screen is just black.

I restarted it and now its doing the beeps again.

Found it in the guide book. The beep code means "No VGA detected"
What should I do?

Sounds like you need a VGA Detector.

Nope, but the beeps still occur when i take out the graphics card and turn it on.

I also reset the CMOS; still got the problem.

Damn dude... that's why I let NO ONE use my gaming rig....  even if its just coincidence that it died while they were using it!!  Just try another GPU, if they have PC's guilt trip them into letting you borrow a GPU to test your box seeing as they were the last to use it before it died...

Try testing your box on the mobo's integrated default card. You may have to go into your BIOS to enable it. If that works, then make sure to plug your graphics card back in. If it's a PCI express card, make sure the power cord is properly plugged into it.

Also, what are the specs of your system? What size Power Supply are you using? It could be a power issue as well. I eventually had to upgrade my PSU due to a similar problem when I upgraded from the 7800 GT to the 9600 GTX on my old PC.

Is the 3850 ATI? I'm not familiar with that card. Overall, I'm willing to bet you have a power problem. What kind of Power Supply are you using?

If you have any decent friends, asking them what happened would be good.

And if that 8800 is an EVGA card, and you registered it, an upgrade might be in your future.

It is a BFG. Apparently they were just playing TF2 and the computer shut itself down.

You probably need to upgrade to a 650 or better. Have you tried the card that's not working in another computer?
