I'll admit, this had be cracking up.

Tens of thousands of people in Mali's capital, Bamako, have been protesting against a new law which gives women equal rights in marriage.

The head of a Muslim women's association says only a minority of Malian women - "the intellectuals" as she put it - supports the law.

This bit was lol:

"We have to stick to the Koran," Ms Dembele told the BBC's Focus on Africa programme. "A man must protect his wife, a wife must obey her husband."

"It's a tiny minority of women here that wants this new law - the intellectuals. The poor and illiterate women of this country - the real Muslims - are against it," she added.

Africa is fail enough as it is, and then you have Africa + Islam, and shit just gets taken to a whole new level.

Its not going to reduce pollution, its going to make it more profitable for those who don't pollute.

Normally its cheaper to just dump what ever where ever... Taxing this makes being responsible a more financially viable option for companies.
But it doesn't matter if your right or wrong... It has abso-fucking-lutely NOTHING to do with this thread, no one asked for you opinion on the subject and no one cares what you have to say. If your that desperate to push your idea out there do it in your own thread so we can ignore it more easily.

On topic: The same thing happened here in America. People don't like change, and even if the women are lacking rights there are bound to be those who feel that with the current system they have a handle on things. It may not be the best life, but they know what they are doing, and know that they can do it....so they resist change.
