No, the blackhawks were supremely overpowered. Any time you get half a server clamoring to occupy one vehicle because everyone knows how overpowered it is, it becomes an issue. Don't get me wrong, I loved using it for as long as it was overpowered, but let's get real here.m3thod wrote:

Unless of course it was something I was looking forward to, like BF3 during the beta. I complained a lot then, because the beta was fucking horrible. Worst Battlefield thing ever, including BF Heroes. So I can understand why you keep complaining about BF3. DICE did say it would be a true successor to BF2, which it clearly isn't. They said Caspian Border was their biggest map ever which it clearly isn't. However, it's a huge step up from BC2, and since I drained my disappointment dry during the beta, I'm actually quite enjoying it for what it is. The best we can hope for from a post BC2 DICE.

The maps are SO MUCH BETTER than the vanilla maps. This is a step in the right direction.

So what I say! They should have been working to keep fun things they way they were while balancing the gameplay rather than saying "fuck it, we're going to make them useless". Add more helicopters so people do not feel left out, add anti-aircraft, etc. Why have they not done this?
This is the precise reason why mods are important for video games. It encourages innovation that can then be used in the future for an improved experience (Desert Combat -> BF2)
This is why I Battlefield could be really a very successful MMOFPS. Charge people for the game initially, at a low price, to prove to the shareholders that it can be successful, then charge a VERY SMALL amount of money for long periods of time (3 or 6 months for, lets say, 10 or 20 bucks). Use the small amount of money for upkeeping servers and use the rest of it to payrolls. Then release mod tools, and people will innovate themselves, let them change all the stats like Halo. Bungie were at least smart enough to realize the fans themselves will collectively decide what is the best, by investing in making it easier for people who lack complex programming skills to create mods. The most popular modes and settings will naturally be the most played but the beauty is that it does not ruin the experience for others. While the fans constantly tinker and experiment you can then release updates for the engine such as graphics, etc. that are compatible with the same base engine so you do not cut off the people who do not necessarily want to spend extra money for a better looking game (people like me).
I am convinced the reason console multiplayer sucks so bad is things like LIVE, not necessarily just controllers. Charging people for what should be a free service, charging them for absolute bullshit like "Themes" and "Avatar upgrades" are indicative of how anti-videogaming and how anti-fun these fucking communists are, they steal money from people with the excuse they are providing something their customers already have with their cellphones and laptops : the internet, the ability to download pictures and put them on your desktop, facebook, etc.
Along with the fact that these dweebs have been collectively screwed out of what is probably millions of dollars by paying 60 for a disc for what is only 40 for a download, WHEN THEY CAN ALREADY DOWNLOAD GAMES ON XBOXLIVE!!! Where did that extra money go I wonder? TV advertising? I have now come to the conclusion the smart, challenging, and innovative video games will never have mainstream appeal.

Squad Deathmatch is the worst piece of shit in BF3. I'm not unlocking the L85, I can't stand playing the mode long enough to get 5 wins.

SDM is lame, as are TDM and any other non conquest modes. Rush is only fun for the pleasure of jumping Damavan Peak.
Conquest assault is the best mode ever. How could DICE/EA f#@k up so bad after BF2? They had the basis for a perfect game and threw it out the window.

Conquest is one of the key components of what made BF awesome. They have tailored the maps to the mods that are more CoDish when it should be CQ designed maps switched up for Rush, TDM, etc. not the other way aroundUltrafunkula wrote:

Conquest map, add boundaries to focus for Rush, more boundaries for TDM, etc. As it stands conquest is the most played, but the maps aren't tailored for that: See where they messed up?
