Did you put V cuts in the bottom of them?  I work with an engineering firm that specialized in audio and they proved that having Vs in the bottom of the stands of electrical equipment and speakers improved the quality.

I would've made the stand have a nice wooden triangle instead of an X so that if I change my speakers no matter what they can rest on it.

Looks nice.  Would have been nicer to get yellow/proper black shrink plastic at the end with the headphones, but a nice job.  At least, if that's what you used.  Did you just snip the cable + resolder?

heh to me it looks black but the flash made it look really grey yeah I cut the cable off as the 1/8 jack is a screw-on jack (screws onto the 1/4 jack) and its really impossible to get those anywhere, I wanted to keep it

thanks for your comment Panda!

Thought I would add something to this section not much but,  Wife cracked her blackberry cover screen (not LCD).  Ordered a new one and replaced it.

Hmm...

My apartment didn't have a toilet paper roll holder, so I made one...
Its kinda a piece though, because I made it quick and didn't have enough scrap to toss the part I held it by and 3 jaw chucks are no good if you plan to release and flip the workpiece....

I also made this hammer from a couple pieces of barstock and a nylon screw on tip.

OK, not really tech, but is DIY...

Do you work with metal professionally or do you happen to have a lathe handy? Also, how is the texture put on the hammer's handle?

theres a neat tool that can do that quite easily.
I as well built a hammer (well, a gavel technically) but my friend stole it so no pics.
