Looks like Risk. What's it like?
V2's One of Paradox Interactive's many grand strategy games. The interface doesn't look like the screenshot; that's just one of the ways you can take a screenshot if you want to show off your exploits. Based on the Hearts of Iron 3 engine, so there's tons of territories (subdivisions of 'states') to mess with, but it's more stable than HoI3.
Unlike Total War, you don't see battles up close. You just see the icons shooting at each other within the same territory. You can pause to send orders and manage everything else, otherwise the games are real-time once you hit play.
With V2, I've played a Madadascar campaign (conquered Zulu, the Boer nations and wrested east Africa from Oman's and Portugal's grasp), a partial US campaign (out-colonized BC before the Brits got there, absorbed Haiti, Cuba and the northern Mexican states; added USCA and Columbia to sphere of influence by 1876; Hawaii and the Philippines are puppets and Alaska is a state) and a Greek campaign, taking all Greek core territories back from the Ottoman Empire and Egypt, with the support of Austria.
Probably better if I just posted some vids. It's not a very interesting game to watch, but playing it is a different matter entirely.
