Anyway, I've seen a lot of episodes of each show, and by far I like Survivorman better. Not only is it more entertaining, but it's more about survival, and this guy is out there on his own. Bear Grylls is the pretty-boy version. I like seeing Les Stroud make cool stuff, adapt to the environment, and just try to survive for a week or whatever. Bear is out there bouncing around doing stupid thing after stupid thing, getting loads of help from his crew, and is also a pretty big faker (just search YouTube for that).
Being out there alone in the wilderness, showing how to survive and get by >> "Oi mates, Ima go drink my pee! Oi ok now Ima go jump in a riva, oi that's cold! Now Ima go drink some more pee! Ey lads, let me in the tent, I did the shot of me sleeping out there in the snow now let me in, no one will know!"

Survivor Man all the way.
Stroud uses reasonable survival tactics when he is out there. Grylls just does extreme shit (which is cool too) but sometimes less practical.
I have actually learned a lot about survival from Les Stroud (from the show and his website).
Survivor Man has the touch of decent film making.
Les Stroud represents the allure of nature. Bear Grylls represents the hard motherfucker we all wish we were.
Some of my favorite episodes:
Canyon Lands and from the latest season when he goes to Baffin Island and catches a fuck ton of Arctic Char.
Stroud uses reasonable survival tactics when he is out there. Grylls just does extreme shit (which is cool too) but sometimes less practical.

Survivorman is much more real, but man vs. wild is a bit more exciting and 'extreme'.

Man vs. Wild isn't about being alone in the wilderness... Why doesn't anybody understand that? He teaches survival tips if you ever find yourself stranded.
