In PR maybe yes, in BF2, nothing near reality there.

BF2 is a good game, thats why we are all still posting in this forum, if you do not like the game or the G36E than go play another game, maybe single player super mario bros is more your speed, you can yell at the turtles or somthing.

What do you guys mean by "NERF" anyway?
How can you "NERF" a claymore mine?
As long as you can disable them with the wrench is all that matters.

As far as real life, most of you are couch potatoes and/or teenagers who have never owned or fired a real weapon in your life.

From now on if you mention REAL life in a game thread you should also mention what branch of the service you are in or will be in or what weapons you own in real life.

The only part of this game that even comes close to being similar to real life are the tactics and communication with your squad and acting like a wanker on the mic doesnt count.
why so srs?

I agree with you. You will proly never see me post here again. When I say real life I meant my real life. L troop, 1/221 Cav company. 19Delta, basic and ait done at Ft.Knox, Kentucky. Past year I am attached to transport company 1864th as convoy security. I am prior service from Croatia, Europe and there I carried g36 and nowdays I carry m4 or mp5 and xd.45 as personal weapon. If you need more info about my "real life" feel free to pm me about anything.

Tactics similar to real life? Lmao.

Since when do soldiers in real life mindlessly sprint towards where they think the enemy is...? As in what happens in bf2.

Since when do soldiers ever just run around in a group of 6+ and just throw bags of medical supplies and ammo at eachother?

Not bf2, not even PR, is like real life tactics.

they have actually focused more on fixing anti cheats than fixing the bugs lol
Quite a few of the cheats in BF2 are made possible by game bugs (see: PID spoofing and commander hack), which is why they have to fix the game.  PB made a few updates to 'catch'/'prevent' the commander hackers, but it's just a plaster stuck over a gaping wound that is the game.  It's a joke that it's taken them about two full years to fix the commander hack.  I bet it'd take a few days to get re-acquainted with the code base and then about half a week to comprehensively fix it.

From what I heard it's two.

Patch teams are never large for older game, especially for a company like DICE that has many major releases being worked on at the same time.

Really the 1.5 patch is a public relations thing, they're only doing it to better their image. Same thing with any game company that releases things for free. They are not obligated to patch and at this point patching the game will not have major impact on sales. So it's a bit of a PR thing and as a result not much resources are being put into it.

Agree tbh. If Dice don't release 1.5, i'm not gonna buy as many games of theirs in the future, incase this shit happens. If 1.5 is good, i'll buy nothing but Dice games

Personally I don't think it matters if the game is old or not, BF2 is one of the most popular online games so they should still have lots of people working on a patch if everyone wants one

Exactly my point. DICE is only doing this to show that they care about the community, which means that people will be more likely to buy their games in the future.

We should be getting our beta in a few weeks (before christmas). Don't fuck this up by suggesting something so abstract that not one person on the internet can even understand what you're suggesting let alone agree with it. The reason our patches were so wishy-washy was because of all the mixed signals they kept getting so they tried pleasing us all and ended up pleasing none.

... which suggests a lack of strength and direction on their part.  I agree that the bitching from certain sections of the BF2 community didn't help, but ultimately Dice is the arbitrator -- they choose what goes into a patch, not us.  They should've listened while filtering out the noise, then patched it accordingly instead of taking knee-jerk steps.

Moreover, I would say that a lot of the bitching was directed at genuine balance issues (BH power, C4 chucking, Noob tubing).  The trouble is that Dice then patched the problems in a cack-handed way, creating new ones in the process.  They got some things right but a lot of things wrong.

The problem with this is that everybody wants something different, other than the most common "fix hit reg - hacks - PID spoofs" etc.

Once you get beyond that, it's purely down to how the individual wants the game to play. Some want certain city maps, some want more balance. If EA/Dice listened to everyone there would be a patch every 2 days.
