Biggest dissapointment was Spore for me definitely. The way some game reviewers go about it it is the Jesus of games but all it is is four minigames and one long epsode of repetition. The veichle/creature creator was and is still very cool but not the "limitless potential" game many call it.

I haven't bought too many new-release games this year so I guess my "best of 2008" has to go to L4D.

GTAIV possibly, sometimes it let me thinkin wow this is incredible, sometimes it left me indifferent.

Those are the only two games that I have purchased this year that I think are worthy of being GoTY. I can't comment on the other ones listed by you guys because I haven't played them yet.

Thats it really . My copy of Left 4 Dead has finally arrived though so I can see it being added to the list very shortly.

Fallout 3 is the only worthy game of the year candidate in my book.
Unless you count the pc release of Mass Effect as a true 2008 title, then it gets my vote too.
