I don't smoke that often anyway, like I said it was probably December was the last time I did.

That's why banter works. It shows to her you aren't intimidated, you have a healthy level of self respect, are emotionally stable, are fun to be around and are interesting to talk to.

That's interesting you say that coz my girl told me her previous boyfriends were in the arsehole category and she said the whole time she did feel like she could walk away at any time and not feel too cut up about it. When her and I got together she told me she felt a bit scared and I asked why. She said its because I treat her so well and she's falling for me like no other and that scares her, how much she feels coz the thought of losing me terrifies her. She's 28 and I'm 30 so it's about time

When I treat her well I do nice things for her that are a bit unexpected. If she were to demand things (she never would, she's a really nice person) I'd probably get my back up and tease her with something like "well aren't you the princess, eh?"
