Anyone heard of / using this? It really deserves some recognition to be honest- the best (new) search engine around in my opinion.

It's made by former Google staff, and pretty much does all the basics of a search-engine, only in a slicker and more 'intelligent' way. Some of the features are really cool, and unlike a lot of other new 'concept' sites and search engines- I actually find them useful and good to use. It's recently been featured on BBC News as a possible 'rival' to Google - the next big thing so to speak - although I think it'll probably experience the same problem as every other good new website: lack of awareness and advertising over the current giants.

Check it out anyway, I myself intend to substitute all my usual Google searches for Cuil searches .

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. There are a few cool features that Google doesn't have, and when the server's aren't being spammed with traffic brought in from the BBC coverage, the entire search engine feels more 'fluid' and fast. The problem that the search engine will encounter has already been demonstrated here... of course it won't have the range of features, speed or sheer number of search results as Google. People have to be reasonable and not always compare a new engine with the paragon of search engines. Google has been archiving and indexing for years. But all of Google's employees are the brightest in the business- and the most inventive- so I'm sure this will have a good future .

It's only a search engine, I know! Google doesn't let us down... can't argue with that point, but I'm all for variation and competition. Microsoft/Google owning and running everything on the Internet isn't the brightest of E-Futures .

It makes the l look like a lighter shade of gray compared to the c and u in this case as well, making that logo look like shit.
