We'll I'm undecided at the moment. Right now I'm saving for the monitor and if I find time in the schedule to get a job then my plans might change, I'm not sure

And again. If you got bored with a Wii withing '5' hours, that is because you probably expect it to be the same as your home pc/ps3/xbox. It's a state of mind and expectation from the Wii.

Ps. The next Star Wars game will have more missions on the Wii then on the X/PS and it's controls will be a whole new experience. Especially with the WiiMote+ that will be released in the near future.

What are you talking about? There's plenty of PS3/360/PS3+360 exclusives both coming out which will probably never make it to the PC. The Wii is more of a kids/party console. The 360/PS3 are more for hardcore gamers, but they are tending to apply to all types of gamers nowadays. Plus, the Wii hardware-wise is absolutely horrid.

I mean, if he got a PS3 and not a Wii, look at the games he could play (and this is just upcoming):

I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark here and say that he likes these types of games as opposed to...Mario...lol.

1) Rock Band is absolutely TERRIBLE for the Wii. TERRIBLE. The only reason one should get RB for the Wii is if you're only getting it for a party game and NOTHING ELSE. Most people I know get Rock Band for both solo play and parties, and Rock Band is stripped horribly on the Wii so solo play is basically not an option.
2) GH III is on the PC.
3) Oh wow...yeah, I'll take the games I listed above as opposed to SSB and MK any day, and I'm willing to bet Mutant will too.
4) And the PS3 has the Sixaxis controller...what's your point? Sure, it's not as instituted into games as the Wiimote, but it's still there.

The Wii is nothing more than a good party console. For solo play, I highly reccomend you do NOT get a Wii. And if you really want to make your PS3 into a party console, just get Rock Band 2 when it comes out later this year.

I think:

Don't buy a Wii whatever you do. Everyone I know who's a gamer and bought one at launch regrets it completely. They never play the damn things. Literally.

Don't buy a PS3/360 either. You sound like you're low on money and wasting money on a console when you have a great PC seems like a bit of an idiotic thing to do IMO.

Don't spend it on the PC either. Save the money.

YES PS3 is amazing! I love every moment I play it. I can't wait to play GOW 3 and for another example of greatness is Ratchet and Clank 5. It gives you the feeling of playing a pixar movie. So many games on that console are simply epic. Wii is great if you are 14 years old.

Oh and PS3 has GRID...

I love how people recommend the most expensive console when the OP said he had barely enough money to pay for gas.

My recommendation: save your cash and buy a PS3 when you're holding down a job and can afford to pay for that kind of entertainment.

Then how come I'm still PC gaming with a 3500+/6800 setup? Runs CoD4 fine.

PC gaming was only good for me for FPS and RTS games. but i have adjusted to FPS on the 360 quite well. cant stant having 100-150 ping especially when i have a awsome  DSL service. but RTS is something i wont do on the console.

even though PC games are in a class of its own, you have to do an extensive amount of research to build  a powerhouse rig to run awsome games like Crysis on 60FPS. if you want to do PC  gaming, my rule of thumb is this " GO BIG OR GO HOME" .

id say save your money for a decent console system.  Games im looking forward to are GOW2, the force unleashed, Madden 2009.

But you don't need to run games @ 60FPS. 30 FPS is still very playable.

Save your $$ and upgrade your PC. Console always ends up being a huge, obsolete waste of money with worse games that are always more expensive than the PC versions. Half the time all your PC needs is a CPU or GPU upgrade to start hauling ass again which is a fraction of what it cost to replace your dead console.

i  played COD4 64 player map with 30FPS..... left a stale taste in my mouth. got dizzy after a while
