To clarify my choice for the Wii. If I want to play a games like on the PS3 and XBOX, ill go and sit behind my PC. Assasin's Creed, HALO, Rainbow Six etc. etc. are all ported from/to PC.
And that's where the Wii stands out. Original games with a non standard experience. Come on. Even Wii Sports/Balance is unique.
The PS3 and XBOX are regular computers with lesser than average controls.
And again. If you got bored with a Wii withing '5' hours, that is because you probably expect it to be the same as your home pc/ps3/xbox. It's a state of mind and expectation from the Wii.
Ps. The next Star Wars game will have more missions on the Wii then on the X/PS and it's controls will be a whole new experience. Especially with the WiiMote+ that will be released in the near future.
What are you talking about? There's plenty of PS3/360/PS3+360 exclusives both coming out which will probably never make it to the PC. The Wii is more of a kids/party console. The 360/PS3 are more for hardcore gamers, but they are tending to apply to all types of gamers nowadays. Plus, the Wii hardware-wise is absolutely horrid.
I mean, if he got a PS3 and not a Wii, look at the games he could play (and this is just upcoming):
LittleBigPlanet
MotorStorm: Pacific Rift
Resistance 2
God of War III
M.A.G.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Rock Band 2
SOCOM Confrontation
Tom Clancy's EndWar
Killzone 2
And like I said, that's just upcoming.
I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark here and say that he likes these types of games as opposed to...Mario...lol.

the Wii may not be the best console, but it's the only one with good reasons to get it.
It gets RB and GH, (which you can't get for PC)
It gets Smash Bros and Mario Kart (fighting and racing games are better on consoles)
and it has the Wiimote, which gives you quite a few things PC can't do.
PS3 and Xbox360 are just weak PCs with shit games and controllers.
1) Rock Band is absolutely TERRIBLE for the Wii. TERRIBLE. The only reason one should get RB for the Wii is if you're only getting it for a party game and NOTHING ELSE. Most people I know get Rock Band for both solo play and parties, and Rock Band is stripped horribly on the Wii so solo play is basically not an option.
2) GH III
is on the PC.
3) Oh wow...yeah, I'll take the games I listed above as opposed to SSB and MK any day, and I'm willing to bet Mutant will too.
4) And the PS3 has the Sixaxis controller...what's your point? Sure, it's not as instituted into games as the Wiimote, but it's still there.
The Wii is nothing more than a good party console. For solo play, I highly reccomend you do NOT get a Wii. And if you really want to make your PS3 into a party console, just get Rock Band 2 when it comes out later this year.
