The whole revenge scene at the end was kind of pointless because the police would just find him in his secret cellar and take him to trial anyway, making the whole exercise pointless. Plus what if he managed to break out of his bindings and escape? Great revenge plan.

I was expecting the kid to counter-scalp him. -.-

yeah i mean what with the the major studios putting out an indonesian genocide documentary every 6 months, and all

the whole point about superman is that its YET ANOTHER superhero movie. YET another generic explosions fest. the whole point of this documentary is that NO ONE has brought these crimes to a worldwide audience before.

also you can make assumptions about any film by its director - same as books with writers. compare the directors of each respective movie. thank you.

A crappy movie that thinks it is artistic and witty. Truth is, I could sum up the movie for you in 30 seconds, and you wouldn't really be missing anything except some nudity.

Video Game High School: 8/10
I am guessing this was originally some webisodes or something a la The Guild. It was a little cheesy, but even the cheesy stuff made me laugh. The special effects were simple, but actually really really good and added to the movie. I don't know what the full appeal is here, it was something like a bunch of college film students would make, but really well done, none the less.

Gothika: 2/10
Predictable. Horrible acting. Horrible directing. Horrible writing. Who feels a need to say everything they do out loud? Example: The power goes out. The character, in a room by herself, says out loud "Well the generator is on the fritz again, I guess I will go reset it." or some such... Or when guards are looking for someone, they loudly announce "Well I guess she's not in here, let's go look somewhere else" before leaving the room. Ugh. This is also like what a bunch of college film students would have made... Only they would have had a huge budget and still failed the class.

Pacific Rim: 7/10
It was what it was. Voltron vs Godzilla. It did it well it was entertaining. The action was shot/CGIed better than a Transformers movie. Not much to it, but I enjoyed it. Hoped to see fake-Knives-Chau get the highlights knocked out if her hair, but oh well. At least Glados made an audio appearance. Some cheese, but not as much as I expected. I thought it would be awful, but was dragged along by friends. It was worth going in group. However, a lot of people were saying it is the best 3D movie to date. I don't think the 3D added much. Unlike some action movies, it didn't hurt either though. So if you see it, don't feel pressured to see it one way or the other.

Identity Thief: 4/10
Expected this one to be funny. Was awful. 4 might be high. Loved the cast, thy just didn't do anything for this one. Douchebag people that you are supposed to like after a while because the movie tells you to, even though they are still just douchebags. Wasn't funny. Neither myself or my wife laughed at all and both of us ended up playing games on our phones while this was on. Lame.

Honestly I loved it. It's not afraid to be what it is; a spectacular cartoonish monster vs. robot slug-fest. But it has a brain and it has a purpose and it's helmed by a talented director who has a clear love and understanding of the subject matter. It doesn't feel the need to weigh itself down with the now cliche attitude every action film seems to have nowadays, it just presents huge exciting battles between monster and machine while making sure the characters are fleshed out enough to care about, (for the most part at least,) and the story's going somewhere.

Definitely one of the best films I've seen recently and well worth going to see in a giant popcorn-scented theatre.
