As somebody who reads all sorts of books regularly, I'll back up that it was poorly written. Meyer would be totally fucked without her editor. Shitty plot and shitty characters tailor made to apeal to the typical teenage girl of this generation but otherwise lacking any real depth. HURR DURR HE'S A HAWT VAMPIRE WHO'S EDGY AND DANGEROUS AND HE FALLS FOR A NORMAL BUT SLIGHTLY MISUNDERSTOOD GURL WHO DOESN'T FEEL LIKE SHE FITS IN.

It is drivel. Srsly I'm a fan of lots of different kinds of drivel (yes, I read the Harry Potter books too) but that shit truly does not appeal and should not appeal. Ever.
Fuck, even Jane Austin is better than that shit and the only one of her books I've bothered to read wasn't exactly brilliant. (yes, suggested by a chick, and no, I don't take book suggestions from females anymore)
