I thought they changed the recipe because they are black, slimy, and crunchy... like those pickle commercials, except theyre meat...

so after 5 of them i look for an exp date.... sure enough FEB 14 2008

A lot of things have expiry dates that don't actually expire. Beer for instance. Thanks to them having expiry dates I get to buy boxes of completely fine beer for bugger-all money. I bought six boxes of good quality beer for 90 bucks, how cool is that?

As for Slim Jims, I'm pretty sure they're so damn processed that they can survive a Nuclear apocalypse so I wouldn't worry about it.

Not in any way that's going to damage your health, or in my experience the taste of the ber. Sure the two-years expired Fosters was a bit much, (awesome party when I got that lot though,) but a few months is nothing to worry about.
