Hello, I'd like to know what a good antivirus program is, because my Symantec Norton Antivirus has expired.
Is there a way to get another program for free?
If so, please send a link.

Thanks,

Anti-Virus:
a-squared - http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/
AntiVir - http://www.free-av.com/
Avast - http://www.avast.com/
AVG - http://free.grisoft.com/
BitDefender - http://www.bitdefender.com
ClamWin - http://www.clamwin.com/

From this thread - http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=91330

I've never used any of these, but I believe AVG is one of the more popular ones.

sp3 can cause probs with an AMD processor.  Any way round it?

I use windows one care.  I had to buy it but was cheep at amazon £26 for up to 3 pc's and came with a £40 voucher for virgin wines, which I used so cost me £-24 pounds to buy it.

I think its better than anything else iv used.

Kaspersky is one of the best for virus detection, and i'm using it on 4 PCs atm.

Whilst it does detect virus that other anti virus software doesnt, the layout is crap and the settings are overly complicated.

Couldnt say I would recommend it overall, although if you just want something that detects virus in the background, its a good choice.

Kaspersky killed my usenet connection. I went from 6000 kbps to less than 1000 kbps when it was on. There might be a fix but I just said to hell with it.

I have Virgin PC Guard. Very strong, only trouble is, its so strong the fire wall has to be disabled so you can watch movies on your XBOX from your PC.

SAV 10 does the job for me. (SAV = Symantec Anti-Virus...not the Norton consumer product)

Since it's a company/corporate edition, it never 'expires'...just keep downloading the latest definitions and I'm good to go.

Changed my mind I hate windows one care.

sp3 update kills my pc so I disabled windows up date and now one care strops at me constantly.

Any one know how to sort sp3 problems??

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
