What tech did you buy today?

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. what privates are you on? ive almost entirely stopped using them now-- i was capping out at 500Gb of music and not really listening to any of the OLD stuff enough. there becomes a point where you just have loads of media for the sake of it, and no actual use whatsoever . most of my hard-drive investment now is on backing-up and securing my current collection: i have an internal HD as well as two externals essentially storing the same huge chunk of media.
