Finray shouldn't be allowed to post in this topic, as he never buys anything.

ontopic, i bought a 5850 and a PSU. combo deal from newegg. oh, and a card reader, internal 3.5 inch - my camera takes CF, and i got tired of forgetting to plug in my external reader.

Not true, I buy hardware, and in the past 2 weeks I've spent >£330 on hardware.

that's why i used the smiley.

i hope you were right about the 5850. i'm going to put it in my main rig, and hook up three monitors. i've got a display port to DVI adapter, now i just gotta make room on my desk for the other monitor . . .

Newegg. i buy quite a bit from them - whenever i've had a problem, they fix it and fast.

"Why does a consumer need HQV? There are several places in your signal chain where various signal processing occurs. Should your blu-ray player do it or your TV? One is going to do it better than the other and this disk helps you determine which does a better job. The disk will also test your HDTV setup to make sure your HDTV calibration is at it’s best. It’ll make sure your blacks are as black as they can get, give detail in images as fine as snow, etc."

I've got a set.  Thanks.  $50 isn't much, but I'd hate having to get another 2.5" at only 250GB when I've a couple 2.5" 500GB that are still wrapped.

Yeah it takes a bit getting used to, I'll only use it as an alternative to laptop keyboards which I really hate using. Can't argue with €8 mobile keyboard though

Got Zimmer's old P5N-E SLI today

https://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb8/Freezer7Pro/P5N-ESLI.jpg

I think he's the only guy in England Scotland who has donated two P5N-E SLIs to Finnish charity.
(He gave another one to DU a year or so ago)

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
