Just got my 18650-powered CREE R2 flashlight today

https://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb8/Freezer7Pro/FLASHLIGHT.jpg

It's hard to get a picture of how bright it is, but consider that the following picture was taken in a room with a 30, 21 and 11W fluorescent bulb, as well as a 130W lightbulb and five computer screens.

Not bad for $20 including two LiFePO4 batteries!

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Does a flashlight really count as tech? lol

Well, it's got a processor.

Well fair enough I guess.

Why does it have a processor?

To control the PWM for the LED power regulator. A single 18650 doesn't have a high-enough voltage to efficiently drive a LED, so there's a step-up regulator baked in there.

You do know it's £10 more on steam than it is everywhere else, don't you?
One word - patches.

Plus, I don't use xfire anymore so joining games through steam will be nice and easy.

Who says it will use steam servers at all?

Got myself a nice little Pioneer SX-424 today. A small, unknown receiver from the early 70's. It puts out a whopping 15 Watts per channel, but the sexy looks (after some hours spent cleaning it, of course) make up for that.

Less than one Euro per Watt per channel
