SE210's are really good phones, I tried those out against the etymotic Iphone offering a while back and the SE210's were miles ahead. But then I am biased.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. Im still using a pair of G5's on my rigs. Ive been tempted by the razor mamba for a while now, just trying to justify the price in my head. Do you know what the differences between the death adder and the mamba are ?, its a lovely looking piece of kit.

I must admit the Ultimate ears are probably the one set of headphones I dont know enough about and havent trialed yet, i have heard very very good things about them on the auido forums though. I think ive become a bit biased towards Shure of recent years but i know what you mean about them being cumbersome - I found the E5C's too big to use comfortably, so the main draw of upgrading to the SE530's was the lighter design and smaller cables. I find that all the Shure phones are very very dependent on which bud you use as well. Ill take a listen to the Ultimate Ears soon, youve sparked my curiousity .
