I like running them over and as they lay on the ground staring up into space dying they say "starlight" in the gayest Limey voice ever.

I recall a BF2 dev stating (in a pre-release interview) that if we wanted to find out who was the best with a knife in Sweden you could do it. As far as I can tell there is no way to do that - and the game has gone through how many patches?
What is the deal they dont release the data to the public in a form that we can organize it ourselves? Why wouldnt they do that?

Two's company 3 is a crowd! Please respect clans and friends who want to fly together you are really crashing their party and being selfish by trying to butt in.
Well I've looked through several pages of ranting and didn't see this obvious one recently so I would like to bring it up again...
It began way back in the hallowed days of the Big One, WWII - El Alamein. British pilots learned that there was only one AA gun guarding the German main base. Once this weapon was taken out - one could pretty much lay waste to the helpless pilots running like crazed ants trying to find shelter. Yes someone could (and should!) have gotten on a vehicle mounted MG and helped - but usually would just drive off in whatever vehicle they got their mitts on.
The real issue was everyone wanted the damn plane and noone wanted to run all the way to some distant AA weapon and do his unsung duty. Did Ben Affleck get the girl by jumping on an AA gun in Pearl Harbor? No he ran heroically for the plane just like every other player shooting his Tommy gun like an idiot towards the sky.
The worst part of getting on the AA was that your less honorable teammates got rewarded by your sacrifice as they taxied down the runway with scarely a nod in your direction. Then you were at the airbase thinking "hmm... wow there's nothing to shoot at or fly anymore... hmm should I leave? Its a long walk back uh.... hmmmmmm. Here comes one! oh no its friendly... why did I get on this AA gun again? I guess I'll leave now what's that noise? Oh Sh#T"... BOOOOOM!!!
Cut to Vietnam and base raping took on a new dimension with the hated MI-8 that carried a load of paratroopers eager to bail out at a moment's notice and steal America's only true defense at the time - the Huey gunship. Ah the swearing and outright frustration elevated us to new levels of ranting which Dice actually heard and acted on!
They put quad 50 cal guns at the bases - right in the middle of the bases - which of course made them great for snipers looking for an ez kill from the gunner's exposed and fairly stationary melon. Their armor was about nil and soon VC pilots could actually take them out from far far away with a couple rockets - almost as easily as swatting a stoned fly on a marijuana plant.
Fast forward to the present day and the base raping situation is almost worse then ever. Yes this is a team game but who in their right minds uses the AA at it's current state (unless your a sicko like me going for his air defense medal and trying to raise up his team-killing from errant missile fire).
So long story short - DICE, EA (whoever makes these decisions) we need more vulcan defense or mobile AA that can take some abuse (more then one, positioned closer to the aircraft spawns) and players need to be credited and rewarded appropriately for using them. Not just some trinket badge.
AA should have radar to even things up just a tad.
Also there needs to be more incentive for pilots to shoot down enemy jets - I honestly ignore them often as they are only worth two points (the toughest 2 in the game). The true hero of a Daging Oilfields map is the guy in the fighter who dogged the incredibly devastating bomber the whole game - yet never got credit for it.
Oh yeah the whole TKing for planes and spawning system is crazy as well - we need some kind of order to this - maybe some kind of queuing system.
My friends get so pissed off by the raping and other flaws (damn is this a gun battle or a gymnastics event?) that they often just disconnect from the game. They will presently not buy the expansion pack and don't play much anymore. One of my buddies was going to house sit for a friend with no internet, he packed up his computer for the weekend hoping to polish up on his flying skills - only to discover you can't even play single player if your not online. Needless to say he was irate (nothing on the packaging says internet connection required to even play).
Thats my two cents - other then that thanks for this great game and some great memories.

I play support alot so I can justify my dolphinistic attacks. (It owns!!!)
Cannons are the best weapon to rack up kills but will do nothing to tanks. I usually never go back to the base until ive used up my MG ammo.
The trick with heat-seekers is come up behind an enemy plane in bomb mode so he won't hear you beep him, wait until he's blown his flares or is on an attack approach.
Now get as close to his tailpipe as you can, wait till he's flying nice and straight then turn on the heat seeking mode and fire away (make sure no other friendly craft are in front of you).

BTW anyone know why the figures for death by shotgun and defib seem so anomalously high? My clanmates have the same issue. Thanks
Alright well come to think of it I have put alot of lead into blackhawks hoping for that lucky strike so yeah I guess the whole accuracy thing is kinda pointless.
Well you guys might improve your accuracy by not shooting barrels until there's a bad guy laying next to it (one of my alltime favs). Also there's some bullet drop - I believe if you are on the crane at Oman shooting at the hotel roof (use this as a distance measure - its at the extreme range of the gun) aim a cunthair above the guys head.
Right I'm not saying I'm the greatest sniper or anything but I just wondered if theres a way to get a list.
BTW why are my stats not at the bottom of my messages like all you cats??

I have decided to go for my veteran AA badge and have found some tricks with mobile AA. Park them up against a crane or tall structure and you are much harder to take out as a crane will block most bombs and missiles.
Like sniping you find sweet spots on maps where you can be hidden and also gain good coverage of flags and common flight routes. Once you take a pilot out be sure to move cause you know that guy's pissed and coming back for blood.
Anyway my big complaint about the mobile AA is that despite the radar dish on them - they dont have radar on the mini map. Most of my deaths come due to stuff coming up behind me and am unable to hear them over my engine noise until its too late. I feel that radar would really help even things up a bit for these poor guys.
Also the power of the tunguska cannons is fairly low - It sure takes alot of hits to down a chopper even when its already smoking.

I got %50.79 accuracy with a sniper rifle and am curious how I stack up against other players. I looked at the top ten guys and have them all beat fairly handily except >Broggi< who's at %51.5.
Anyways was wondering if there's a way to get a list of the best players accuracy wise with different weapons?

I agree the bunny hopping is out of hand - they need to make the guys jump more realistically or at least have to take a few steps before another Micheal Jordan-like hop. I have always thought that kamikaziers and suicide fraggers shouldnt get points for thier efforts or lack of effort.
It is kinda fun to pop bunny hoppers out of the air in mid leap though... Then bunny hop over their dead body knifing them as they call for a medic.
