Thats all it needs to remove the problems! Long range grenade launching cans till take place, and you can bounce them round corners like regular grenades, only faster. It would also give people a chance to dodge them like regular grenades. So... point out the flaws in my plan

The best fix would be a fuse that activated after the grenade traveled a certain distance.  This would make it like the GL works in RL.  I think the miinimum distance is ~15m.  You could still hit someone with the shell at closer range, but it wouldn't explode.

does anyone know the mechanics on how a real greande launchers works...if not..its quite simple..
its all about rotational spin...once the gl is launched and has met its required revolution upon impact it will detonate...thus  guys who gl people right next to them or jump into a crowd and gl the ground killing everyone near by..it wouldnt work cuz the he round would be a dud...but like u guys said the explosion should only occur at a certain distance and if a gl was launched really close to a person..they should take like 1/2 damage.

What I have always wondered about is what happens if you spin a 40mm grenade a couple of times before firing it.  Does the arming distance get danger close or does it have no effect?

This would also work, but prevents you firing it around corners.

That is an ingenious plan. That would solve all the problems with it. Except for that EA/Dice gave the GL to assualt players to have a weapon against vehicles. A GL with a timer wouldn't have much effect on a speeding humvee. So the only problem is EA.
