torrent help

hey all,

i currently use utorrent but lately it hasn't been downloading at all (it used to work :S)

i checked the log and every time it opens it says "error mapping UpNp port or something"

what am i doing wrong?

also any other recommendation for torrent clients?

your router can't forward ports anymore, so utorrent can't accenpt connections
check router

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh make sure you that you open the proper ports in the router config. utorrent has a nifty little feature to let you know whether they are forwarded correctly.

can you recommend a port to open then?

i know you can choose but i haven't been having much luck

You might want to try Opera as your client. I did and it did everything automatically for me. It also included a nice IRC client, pauseable downloads (<-- Used to be more fancy), many 'widgets' (<-- Download to truly understand), and a great internet-browser wich can mask itself as Firefox, Internet Explorer and ofcourse Opera. Did I mention it was Norwegian?
