Exactly.

Neural network for processing sarcastic utterances:
1. The left hemisphere language cortices interpret the literal meaning of the utterance;
2. The frontal lobes and right hemisphere process the intentional, social and emotional context, identifying the contradiction between the literal meaning and the social/emotional context;
3. The right ventromedial prefrontal cortex integrates the literal meaning with the social/emotional knowledge of the situation and previous situations, helping the listener determine the true meaning.

For those having trouble with Kmarion's post, allow me to summarise:

I posted that because for whatever reason you have a hard time just saying what you mean. I do not know why you think talking down to a person could possibly help promote a healthy debate. It's just obnoxious.Bubbalo wrote:

Excuse me if I expected it to be obvious that the US Army was expected to stabilise Iraq by use of force. Looking back, you're right. People with guns do so much more than just kill people. For one, they can pose like action heroes then send the photos to families for shits and giggles.
Spoken like someone who never served in the military.Bubbalo wrote:

Well, excuse me if I'm not dumb enough to take up a job where I risk my life so that the rich grow richer whilst the poor grow poorer.

We recently had a soldier from here in San Antonio send a request to a local radio station. He is currently on a tour in Iraq.
Now this guy could ask for just about anything from the community, but what does he request? SOCCER BALLS. The reason for the request is that every where they go in Iraq, the kids always ask if the troops have a soccer ball. So the local station ran a soccer ball drive and we sent a lot. You want US troops doing something nice in Iraq? Here you go. Think about it... one soccer ball affects not just one kid, but all the kids that get out there and kick it around.
Yeah, all of our troops are bad people. Dumbasses!

Off-topic, do you remember your namesake's infamous tirade against his boss in front of his family in 'Christmas Vacation'?Clark W Griswald wrote:

Yes, how disrespectful of me to criticise armies who fight not for what is right but for what their leaders deem to be in their nations interest.Clark W Griswald wrote:

I've gotta start counting the number of times people say this. Am I supposed to care?Miller wrote:

An effective method to criticize a human would be to verbally attack the head, where most of the large-scale decision-making comes from, rather than the cells. The same can be applied on a larger scale. I appreciate people who verbally attack an administration, rather than the armies that fight for it.Bubbalo wrote:

edit: verbally attacking the head, as in criticizing thoughts and ideas, not saying 'hey, FUNNYFACE!'

So what do you do? What do you do to make thing better? Talk about it on a video game forum? You are a fucking idiot.Bubbalo wrote:

you see, bub seems to be under the impression that dictators should be allowed to keep their countries, now matter how many mass graves they fill, rape rooms they operate, tortures are committed (you wanna see real torture, look up what happened at abu-ghraib under saddam's control, or at castro's prison adjacent to GTMO), or surrender treaties they ignore.
As much as I hate to disrupt the cheerful flame war, we're all talking about it on a video game forum, here. If people want to continue talking on this thread, the quality of debate had better go up, or the thread will go the way of the recently banned items.Clark W Griswald wrote:

I'm saying that I refuse to support a system and world view I don't agree with by dieing for it, and that anyone who joins any national army (in just about the entire world) and honestly believes that they're fighting for anything more than their countries economic strength is a fool.
I'm just under no illusions as to whether or not the US is happy to support those same dictators if it suits their needs.kr@cker wrote:

They fight for their friends, and nothing else. It is all you people that never served who add all the extra bullshit terms to it.Bubbalo wrote:
