Yes, he does. Until the Conservatives come up with detailed policy on the big issues, and stop pandering to the minority groups with token policy statements, no-one is going to vote for them. In elections in heavily populated countries sometimes nationalism does play a part in leader selection and other issues ("Keep the pound!", etc., etc.). It's just a theory of mine.
