Hi all, tried searching this, but have't found anything similar.

When i go in to configure my joystick, is it normal that when choosing movement axis, that i can only enter it in one space, and it will automatically update the other space associated with the same axis?

also, when in game, most of the time my throttle slider does not seem to work, suddenly it works, but i can't turn it off...

anyone heard of this problem before? or do i need to buy a new joystick....

No idea about the throttle, but the movement axis is working as it should in the controls menu. If you set axis 1 for up and push the joystick up then it is simply automatically filling in the negative value of the same axis for down.

Yes, normal for it to auto update - but some dont....for instance the throttle. (?) Check that setting again and you may have to manually set each one...throttle up and down. Make sure to have the throttle setting in the middle position before doing it. Also, have you checked that you have set it correctly for both aircraft AND helicopters? That happened to me once...just take a close look at settings for both.

Well its different I think for each joystick when it comes to the throttle issue. I have yet to figure out if the throttle is automatically detected when you bind acceleration/decceleration to it. I ended up having to use the Saitek program to set a dead are on the throttle and then set below and above to the W and S keys. At least that's what I remember doing. I'm not at home so I can't check to be certain.

ohhh how do you set in a dead area on your throttle? cuz mine seems to have a problem going to zero.. it seems to stop on 1...

link to program would be nice or something

Well it was a program that came with the Saitek joystick. I don't believe it works with any others. Did a search online for a program and didn't find anything that was very useful. Maybe someone else has one that they know about.

I have a Saitek joystick, and it automatically filled in the other axis for me.  I made sure it was at 0.  Then clicked on the secondary throttle to accelerate then moved my throttle forward and it filled it in fine.

I had a problem with the yaw I accidently twisted left when I selected turn right... so make sure your joystick is in the neutral position and that the throttle is at zero/minimum.

I've been using a Saitek Cyborg Evo for BF2. I only use the drivers from the Saitek site, and not the "SST" (saitek smart technology) progam. BF2 sees all the buttons just fine, trigger, 5 thumb buttons, 4-way hat switch (won't work 8-way), and the 4 buttons on the base (I don't use the shifted states so I'm not sure about those). I just installed the drivers and set everything up through BF2 options/controls (thank god I didn't have to bind all the buttons like counter strike). I just wish that I could adjust the sensitvity so that 40% to 50% on the stick would be 100% movement. I've found that sometimes the joystick isn't centered at the start, but after moving it to all extremes it corrects itself. The throttle works fine, only in jets it's not 0% to +100% it's -100% to +100%.

I don't have to use the keyboard at all!
