I was playing SF the other night (one of the night maps) and was shot on three separate occasions by the same guy with an M24.  The strange thing was that I was "Killed", not critically injured and thus beyond the assistance of a medic.  I was just lying on the ground when it happened, not climbing a ladder or sitting on an LMG or such thing.

I wondered if I was possibly seeing the result of a hack in the game, or possibly a bug.

I'll be interested to hear if anyone else has had this happen to them and what the various opinions are.

(Yes, I know it was pretty lame to get sniped out three times by the same guy, but I'm just not that good at the game, okay!).

Besides headshot in some situations there is another reason. If someone gets killed and they continue to hit the body it will still register hits. I have noticed doing this esspecially in vehicles with MG or Armor. I also notice that their body fades faster when I do this. As if the additional shots into the body push them even more negative in the hitpoints and hence Killed instead of Injured.

theres a criticaly wounding damage limit and a kill limit. if you shoot them when they are dead they will reach the killed stage where they cant be revived...

Nice! I really liked this in Enemy Territory where you kept shooting the wounded guy until he actually died.  It was easier to tell in that game as the guy would moan and try to reach up for help when he was shot down.

I am happy to see that it's also in this game as well.

Another way of not being able to revive someone is if you are lying prone and your legs or body are sticking through an object or wall.  I have frequently not been able to revive teammates when they are prone and in the corner in the TV Station CP in Sharqi Peninsula.

oh sweet, now I have a reason to pelt a dead body with bullets. I'm not being rude by teasing you, I'm simply making sure you're dead

Wait... does that mean if I kill someone and run up to their body... I could... essentially knife that body and it'll instantly kill him off?

Man I feel bad when I can't save a dude, I'm all persistent and "CLEAR!" "CLEAR!" "CLEAR!" while I'm all striking my mouse button all "Live damnit! LIVE! You'll live!"  then when that body fades, I'm all like "NNNOOOOO!!! WHYYY?! WHY GOD WHYYYY TAKE MEEE!!!"
