He didn't co-operate with the cops and he got tazed, now thats one thing. But to be asked to be giving your info and badge # to a citizen and reply with "back off, or you'll get tazed too." Thats just wrong. He wasn't doing anything to the cop. Those fucking cops deserve to get tazed how ever many times that guy got tazed.

You tree huggers can cry all you want. It doesn't matter if he was no danger to anyone, he refused to cooperate with the police. He was in a restricted area, without the proper ID, and refused to leave in a timely manner. In addition to that, he refused to immediately leave when the police arrived. Instead, he carried on like a drama queen, screaming and raving like a complete idiot. The article even says:

"It's an electrical shock. ... It causes pain," Young said, adding that the drive stun would not likely demobilize a person or cause residual pain after the shock was administered. Young also said a Taser is less forceful than a baton, for example.

The taser was the humane way to deal with this, and the police officers were perfectly justified. Before tasers, police officers would have to resort to using their baton, which would often break bones on impact. This is how law enforcement works and it happens every day. Personally, I would've given that jackass the baton.

Also, I find it hilarious that he carries on about the Patriot Act. When your name is Mostafa Tabatabainejad, you're in a restricted area, lack proper ID, refuse to leave in a timely manner, and refuse to cooperate with the police....how can you not see that coming? Stupid people deserve what they get.

Students, staff, and faculty only. He couldn't produce an ID, so effectively he is not a student. He is in a restricted area because he lacks the necessary ID.

I've been shot with a stun gun and yes it does hurt like a b****.  The electrical charge literally knocked me off my feet.  That being said, once the charge was turned off it only took me a couple of seconds to regain enough control of my body to stand up.  Also watching the few seconds you actually see the guy getting tazed, it seems pretty clear that he could have complied with the officers if he wanted to.  He had more than enough strength and control to try to throw his weight around.  As for the getting of the badge numbers, I agree that the students had a right to get them.  However, there is a time and a place for everything.  Trying to get those numbers when the officers are in the middle of trying to restrain someone is most definitely not the time to do that.

On the other hand, I've seen plenty of officers become taze happy.  Probably has something to do with the fact that tazers can be the easiest way to do subdue someone without leaving lasting damage.

Fucking weak officers. Can't even get a guy up without having to taze him. Not the guys i'd want protecting my safety. No way man. There's always other way to deal with people who are aren't complying. Even pepper spray would've been ok. But a fucking tazer?

I was deeply disturbed after seeing that video..... HOW ARE PEOPLE SO FUCKING STUPID. He is in a place that requires ID, and he doesn't have it so the police ask him to leave. He says fuck off and still doesn't leave. They then tazer him. What is wrong with that? Then he still refuses to get up and get out so they keep tazering him. Nothing wrong with that. And to add on to it there is some stupid bitch CRYING over this in the background. I lol'ed

Doing their job? "Pick up that can. Now put it in the trash." You know, the cops could've just drug his ass out of there. Whatever peace the student was disturbing was amplified several times by the multiple shocks received, drama-queening or not.

Give me a break......That kid is a fucking idiot and those guys didn't use any excessive force. They gave him several chances to comply, and he refused. They warned him every time before they tazed him, and he still refused. Maybe instead of screaming liberal shit like "Here's your fucking Patriot Act", and "I have a medical condition........waaaaaaaaahhhhhh", he should have simply LEFT THE LIBRARY.  Doesn't suprise me comming out of a California liberal school though. Fucking drama queen. I have shot 3 people with the tazer, and been hit with it for 5 seconds in training so I know it hurts like hell. But it doesn't have lasting effects, and hurts alot less than us having to beat the shit out of you because you don't want to do what you are told.

That kid deserved everything he got...he got ample amounts of warnings. i realize he SAID "i will walk out" but he never actually got up to walk out. He was obviously just pulling a stunt to get famous for 15 minutes. i have seen plenty of tazing videos and nobody has had a problem standing up after about 10 seconds of being tazed. He was obviously doing it on purpose to get attention.
