LOL i cant belive there is even a comparison... lol
M24 has is acurate but it only hits about 1/2 to 2/3 of some ones health in a body shot, but is and instant kill with a headshot.
L9 is better because it hits some one down to 2 bars with a body shot. pluss it is isntant kill with head shot, but it has a better scope than the M24, it zooms more and the crosshairs are smaller which is better for extreem range acuresy.
on a side note the L9 does have a learning curve because it shoots diffrent than the M24 lol i remember the first time i used it lol i couldnt hit anthing, but now after sever months of practice i easily make moving heashots woot....

Ive almost been trying to switch back to the M95, Its a really cool gun but I have just gotten so used to the L96 that I just like it more.
The M24 to me is like a weaker version of the L96...Maybe I just suck to much to realize the subtleties, but they shoot about the same to me, with the L96 having a slightly better scope and a little more power.
there isnt one that is better then the other.. its what your best with..
M-24> M-95> Type 88> SVD> L-96
L-96 is overrated.
L-96 is overrated.
im not a big sniper but anyone who says l96a1 fails at life.
The M24sws and the L96A1 in BF2 are identical in all aspects except reloadtime. The L96A1 is slightly quicker on the reload, but yeah reload who cares as a sniper about reload.JohnLeavitt wrote:

Killdamage / killtime on the body of armored and unarmored targets (infantry) is the same for all bolt-action Sniper Rifles. Headshots do triple damage which is an kill with all the Sniper Rifles.
Bulletdrop is the same for all weapons in the game, so compensation for shots beyond 150 meters is the same for all except Sniper Rifles. The L96A1 has a thinner crosshair than the M24sws, but I persoanlly have no difficulty with getting hits over distances of 450 meters with either.
More Data on the Sniper Rifles can be found here --> Sniper Rifle Chart 1.4 <--
i thought that the M24 and the L96 took 2/3rds of heath off for a body shot on armoured players, and the M95 takes the hp down to 2 no matter what.Jemme101 wrote:

The damage for the M24 and L96A1 are identical. In the game they are essentially the same rifle in terms of their ballistic performance, with differences in sound, scope and reload time.
You've sniped for what, 40 hours? Maybe if you do it just a little longer you might notice that magnification for all three bolt-action sniper rifles is the sameJohnLeavitt wrote:
L9... zooms more
Check the Wiki: the semi-autos magnify by 3.33, the bolt-actions by 5.
That's right for the M95, but the M24 and L96A1 take armoured classes down to 40% I think. This is normally, excepting unregistered shots and the occasional oddball hit.Fenris_GreyClaw wrote:

If you check that Sniper Rifle Chart 1.4 all the way at the end, you can see the number of rounds it takes to kill an armored/unarmored target. The Bolt-Actions all need 2 bodyshots for a kill the Semi-Auto's require 3 or 4 Hits (depending on armor or not).
