Vent Problem. Any suggestions?

I seem to get a lot of background noise going out when i am on vent and playing bf2.. my setup is:

amp outbound 1
inbound 4
mic boost on (windows mic boost)
i use push 2 talk
my in-game sound effects volume = 50%
in game music = off

i have tried lowering amplify.. but that just results in people not hearing me

i was hoping some of you can post settings you have that are working well for you... any input would be appreciated.. if this post is in the wrong forums, i apologize

ts sucks. get the codec that is like better than telephone quality. its definetly mic boost. if your having troubles with ppl hearing you, u can turn your outbound up in vent. and your microphone volume up in your advancded sound controls

think i fixed it by lowering my amplify and turning down sound effects volume some more...
(swapping headsets was first thing i tried o and TS was not an option .. both my clan and my friends from work run vent servers)

I have some issues with both TS and (ghey) Vent, becuase I have Dolby 7.1 surround sound. Sounds kind of sexual pre-game, but with the extra noise created as BF2 doesn't have surround capability, TS and (ghey) Vent get slightly distorted. Might be time I get a nice shiny headset. Any suggestions? (Price in GBP £)

well both ts and vent are equally good as each other

as to your problem #1
do you have headphones ? or do you use speakers?
if its headphones and mic then the problem could be your mic boost but its unlikely.

if its speakers well then you are probably getting feedback from them into your mic - try moving the mic furthur from the speakers and/or concider investing in headphones (5.1+7.1 are great and all but the do muck up mics)

if its a pingpingping sound thats because -well i dont know but clicking on another program usually clears that up

Basically we would need some more info ..

such as
Sound card type
Speakers or headphones
type of mic (say if headphone connected)
when it occurs
type of sound
