Dec. 21 - A judge has barred the teaching of 'intelligent design' as an alternative to evolution. Renae Bunney reports.

'Intelligent design' states that some aspects of nature are so complex that they must have been the work of an unnamed creator rather than the result of random natural selection, as argued by Charles Darwin in his 1859 theory of evolution.

A federal judge barred the teaching of intelligent design as an alternative to evolution at a Pennsylvania school, saying in a scathing rebuke to the school board that it violated a constitutional ban on teaching religion in public schools.

SOUNDBITE: Richard Katsee, Americans United for the Separation of Church and State, saying (English): "They were selfish. They imposed their own religious viewpoints on a community that has diverse religious beliefs and they did that without any investigation or research about whether what they were presenting to the students was science. It was all about getting their religious views into the school curriculum."

There was talk of this in Australia. Pure BS in my opinion.

You teach science in science classes, and religion in religion classes. Simple.

Side note: At school we have "religious education". Us students more often call it "christian education", because the teacher always recycles the same stories about the bible. When she talks about other religions, she always compares them to christianity (and how christianity is better).

Our school libraian even said "she turns more people Athiest than Christian."

EDIT: I was going to post on a lot of things and how they were wrong but it seems Scorpion0x17 beat me to it in post #67.
