Today I spent a good time on a karkand 32 map. It wasn't the usual meatgrinder like it is 99% of the time. My squad would actually split up and take the Suburbs and the Gatehouse. Actual tactics were involved. It was a great map. The Hotel CP was just another flag as far as everyone was concerned. Karkand it great for point to be sure but with it can also be an excellent map in it's own right.

I agree, the most fun I have had on Karkand is to either as MEC hold the gatehouse or as US TAKE and hold the gatehouse.  No need to run around the hotel, with the right mix of kits, 4 guys can hold the entire east side of the river indefinately and I believe that is the key to winning that map.  Had a lot of fun doing that, sometimes I will have 1 or 2 kills, (mines), and 1 or 2 deaths, (arty), and 10 repair points, and a win!

Karkand can be a really fun map, if played correctly.  Often, half the MEC team will stick to the Hotel for the entire round, while the rest of the team is spread out, trying to hold the other points - losing them one by one.  The suburbs is almost always the first point to be taken, because it is rarely heavily defended.  Same deal with the Gatehouse.

I only ever play the 32-size map; I find the 64-size map just isn't as fun.  People are spread out more.

I think it's amazingly fun when it turns into a meat grinder!

"Alright you're good to go!"
"Thanks chief"
"ENEMY TANK SPOTTED!"

Etc, etc..................
