Well, he did something, he invaded Iraq over false evidence and started a civil war that took thousands of lives.
But I'm guessing Clinton was just spotless.
Can't you defend Dubya without comparing him with Clinton?  You don't help GWB comparing him with Clinton.  Clinton didn't kill anybody.
Operation Desert Fox. Clinton also attacked Iraq, and many people accuse him of doing so to draw attention away from his scandal. That said, Clinton was still a much better president.

You may be right.  He tried to draw attention away.  But his little scandal was nothing.  I'm glad you can express your opinion in this form, and I agree with you, Bill Clinton was a much better president.

I'm not up to date on all America Presidents to compare him to others and what he has done for the US
For me the guy just didn't instill confidence, he never gave a good speech that seemed to flow and sometimes make sense.
And all the dumb ass things he said just doesn't make you confident in his ability to lead

Null vote. He will be a former president. Just like those you ask people on the street and they can't even name which century he is from. Henry Harrison, Tyler, Cleveland, Garfield and the like.

I don't understand how that post shows that I am "sensitive". If anything, it is quite the opposite. It's more of a "shakes his head in shame at 50th topic on the same thing" kind of attitude.
Except that you've made posts with that silly ASCII image before. It's getting to become more than just a 'head shaking' exercise now. In fact the only we see you on D&ST is to make some kind of response like this, which alludes to the fact that you are a tad 'sensitive'.
LOL at Cam, the only one sensitive is you taking such a defensive position on your obviously bloviating post.  Cmon Cam, I know your better than that, I know it.  Are you having a bad day (not being sarcastic)? We all care about each other so its kinda weird when someone who's usually "Fair and balanced" isn't.

The thread was a joke thread I concede - a flamebaiter - I just get irked when Fancy_Pollux can't see through that.

GWB will go down in history in different light depending on what your perspective is, CPoe.  You hate him, so you say he sucks and is a failure.  Boring.  Next.

If Iraq turns out to be a Islamo fascist country , GWB will be an ugly pimple on America's ass.
If Iraq can pull itself together an be a shinning light of democracy in an otherwise dark and dreary land then he will be a visionary who had the balls to "put his money were his mouth was".

No way Rommel, "Ford" will go down as just a "former president" (although this week he became the oldest living president).  I dont' know notable things from many presidents, but like the majority of people, I know about some of the first presidents, Lincoln, Wilson, Roosevelts, Truman, Nixon, Carter, Reagan and above.  In 50 years, Bush will be a greater talking piece (probably with negative attributes) than was Nixon for our generation.

War time leader's are rarely viewed "popular" at the the time. Much of the same stuff they say about Bush was said about Lincoln during his presidency.

People will remember him like the "angry german kid" : funny and  sad at the same time.

He was funny when he made faults ( nucular weapons, abu garhib, ...........) but it was also sad because it wasn't his fault.

Even if the Iraq War results in an outstanding success, I would find it difficult to stomach a comparison between the presidents presiding over the American Civil War and the current Iraq War.

Lincoln's stubbornness in the face of negative public opinion ensured victory. Eventually Lincoln convinced the American people that he was right. Today Lincoln is credited with successfully defending the very unity of the United States.

In sharp contrast, Bush's stubbornness in the face of negative public opinion was, by all accounts, not taking the US in the right direction. Eventually the American people convinced Bush that he was wrong. The "resignation" of Don Rumsfeld, the talk of a need for new direction - I do NOT believe this would have happened had the elections not gone the way they had.

Personally I am not convinced that it is possible to "succeed" militarily in Iraq. I have a feeling that in 20 years if we see peace in Iraq, the world will credit it NOT to Bush's military efforts, but to sweeping changes yet to come in Iraq policy that will have been a direct result of the 2006 referendum on the Bush administration - one that gave it a failing grade.

Not anywhere near the greatest, not anywhere near the worst. Though it all depends on whether or not it is a liberal sided or conservative sided historian who presents it.

If I recall correctly, nearly every reply I have made to this thread has pointed out that this is nothing more than flame bait:
