Sorry but i have say the US especially after looking at some of these comments. The US can be a force for good, large army for peace keeping gives aid etc. But per capita the US gives less aid than most Western countries and most of it's forces are now at war not peace keeping.
if we are to nuke the middle east because of terrorism (having nukes will not stop them look at 9/11 or 7/7) hadn't we also nuke our selves because of homegrown terrorism.
As for wars the US helped to win WW1 and WW2 etc. they didn't win on their own. And remember the US is an Empire in it self that was created at first by Britain Spain and France, it then went westward colonizing Mexican and Native American land. The US fights when it wants, supports terrorism when it suits it.

A lot of these threads would not turn into US bashing threads if you accepted peoples opinions (it doesn't mean their right) It is someones opinion let them have it, you know in your heart your right let them live in ignorance.
I appreciate it is hard not to stick up for your own country but what the hell don't rise to it and the threads will continue with out turning into a US flaming war.

I'm kinda shocked that after the Dems victory we're still running at 50% global hatred here. Personally for me it was Bush and Co I hated not USA. Hopefully that percentage will reduce now with time now that Bush is a dead duck.
