Got on a ranked 24/7 last night that was set to play one map per round.  I think it would be best to set it to 99 rounds per map like some 24/7 servers I play on.

Is there any benefit to having the srever load the map every round or is it just a huge waste of time like I suspect?

I hate that because I take a real long time to load so I miss some precious playing time...

Yeah it's pretty useless, plus whenever I'm done reloading theres always a shit load of lag at the start, so I don't see the point of it nor do I play on servers with less than at least 3 rounds per map.

my guess  - it awards  gold, silver, and bronze medals every round that way.

it awards medals per round not per map so loading is not important?!

Tell them, it's probably a mistake in their settings. I think there is a point in letting it reload sometimes to give the CPU a break but 10+ rounds is reasonable.

If you are saying that the server is playing the same map continuously and that it is only playing the map for one round before reloading, it looks like the server has an admin that doesn't know how to set it up. Our server runs many different maps and only plays one round per because some maps just take too long and playing them multiple times in succession will usually empty out the server.

It does that regardless of how many rounds are played per map. Medals are warded for every round, but if the map is not reloaded you will not see them if you click the join button right away.

Yeah, the admin not knowing about multiple maps per round setup was my first guess, unfortunately I am too lazy to tell them about it unless I see them in-game.  Which would be rare since I never enter those servers that do this.

I think what BaulRag might be suggesting is that the Admin might keep the server at one round per map thinking that he will load in first every round and get a head start on points in order to finish in the top three each round or get commander, etc.
