great book just finished it, a must read IMO
its a fictional book set in 2008 although a lot of the story is about the past, it is about vampires and more specifically about Vlad Tepes, who many vamire stories originated.

Dude, don't stress too much about the HP movies. They're decent for the genre, and you must admit that something horrible could've happened. Like Tim Burton.RTHKI wrote:

Thanks to the unnamed mod for the info.

its not really a book but i like to read the daily sport . full of fanny !!
All the J.R.R. Tolkein Books
Some of the Dragonlance books
And most definitely the Stephen R. Donaldson books : The Chronicals of Thomas Covenant....simply amazing. I have read and re-read these since I was 14 and now he's coming out with another 3 books. That will make 9 in the series.
Oh, and the bible, never leave home without it!

Agatha Christie books : And Than There Were None
Murder On The Orient Express
James Fenimore Cooper: Last Of The Mohicans (One of the finest books ever written)
Tom Clany once in awhile, really slow to build stuff up, writing style is not my cup of tea
True Crime stuff (CJ's my major so this is a no brainer)
Great Expectations was kinda .......ehhh....I had great expectations but it didn't fulfill
Gatsby is a classic but overrated imo
Guests Of The Ayatollah by Mark Bowden is an EXCELLENT read for those ignorant of our past history with terrorists. http://www.theguestsoftheayatollah.com/index.html
Some other stuff, maybe I'll add more later. Take it easy guys.

The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire
Ghost Wars
The STASI
The Rebel's Dilemma (recommended, but as a purely academic read it's very technical)
Neorealism and Its Critics
Force and Statecraft
Grand Failure: The Birth and Death of Communism in the Twentieth Century
Strategy and Arms Control
Defense and Dependence in a Global Economy
Unguided Missles (Good guide to the defense acquisition process and budget cycle...if you're into that kind of thing)
The Nuclear Cage: A Sociology of the Arms Race
Stragegy in the Contemporary World
American Defense Policy
Realpolitik: Theory and Practice
You can see where my area of interest/work lies.
