BF2S Forums Medics (more please!)

I just had a glorious day playing medic.  I got my legion of merit ribbon and vet first aid badge.  I had a dumbass squad though, they died alot and i got many revive scores, but they also cost me my life many times as well as teamdamage points.  These idiots would constantly run in fron tof my line of fire as well as running full speed into the grenades I threw.  I swear that they did everything they could just to avoid my medic bags.  I chased some idiot in my squad around the entire mosque at Mashtuur before I could heal him. 

I hate using the L8, and I had a Kill/Death ratio of about 1/3 for the first round, but I had a huge number of team points.  By the time I quit playing, I had a K/D ratio of 3/1 and still had the same high number of team points.  I love playing medic.

Ok, I forgot to add this.  If you're a medic and get called to get healed, whatever you do, DO NOT STAND THERE HOLDING THE MED PACK!  JUST DROP THE DAMN MED PACKS FOR ONCE.  It heals you alot faster that way.  When a fuckin' medic comes up to heal me, but he wont frop the pack, I am tempted to just kill him so I can take his kit to heal myself.  The only thing that you are doing when just holding a med pack is WAITING TO DIE.  I have been killed countless times just sitting in a corner with a fucking medic who doesnt have the sense to drop the med pack and get on with the battle.  I HATE THOSE MEDICS WHO DO THAT.

It is hard to be effective as a medic.
Why ?

1. a medic has to focus on BOTH enemy AND wounded friendly soldiers.
  you have to kill nearby enemies  first  in order to safely heal your teammates, while other kits can afford to focus on the enemy only

2. as Zombie and Mcminty  pointed out, even if you are medic and just one step behind them, most players yell "medic" several times and KEEP RUNNING AWAY FROM YOU ! 

3. most of the time i am the only medic in my team, OR half of my team suddenly decides to become a medic also , lol.

4.  suddenly half of your team start yelling medic at the same time , even those who  are ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MAP ?

DICE can ÿou please do away with the programmed "medic"-cry whenever a soldier is wounded, or make it optional in the main-menu ?
Good medic know where to be and how to use  the mini-map and heal-icons !
