Its probably just a personal thing, but i play better with the M24..
L96A1. More damage, same accuracy as the m24. 'nuff said.

thats what i hear but man ive heard A LOT of opinions. some say that the L96A1 has more bullet drop than any other, they say it is more accurate than the M24 and that it is wuieter and better scope. but people also say the exact counter to that. it would be nice if DICE could just tell what is better up front. or EA or whatever it is. lol
And again posting this reply for the gazilionth time ...Longbow wrote:

Stats on both Rifles can be found here --> Weapon-Chart 1.22 <--, made by Black_Duck_1. Original TotalBF2 thread
To sum it up; the M95 does more damage and has less accuracy, the L96A1 does less damage and has an higher accuracy. The M24sws and the L96A1 are the same.
BULLETDROP IS THE SAME FOR ALL WEAPONS IN THE GAME
This has allready been confirmed 10 months ago by the people at DICE
It was discussed ages ago on the Total BF2 forums. It began when somebody did tests on bulletdrop on Gulf of Oman and the thread got a lot of peeps replying to it. I think the OP finaly came into contact with somebody at DICE which confirmed the bulletdrop ingame. I found the thread --> Bulletdrop Thread - Total BF2 Forums.
I found the original interview Total BF2-Armando Marini
Scroll down for the part on bulletdrop.
Results after testing were as follows ...
Testing again was done by Black_Duck_1.
The results were measured in a level firing field. Ingame you will have to compensate for being either on an higher or lower elevation than your targets position.

Ill probably will be re-posting this reply for another year or so till Battlefield 3 comes out.

Same accuracy as M24 + Faster Reload Time + Badass sound = L96A1.
Tsk tsk ... accuracy ... you mean deviation Bigmack And the M24sws sounds better imo.BigmacK wrote:

Very much agree on that, sir!iPoon.be wrote:

Lately I've won 1vs1 at 5 meters with that baby. And had rounds with 60-5 on full 64 player Karkand IO.
But on hardware servers I always use the M95 IF I should bail over their airfield or something.
Sure looks real to me on the kit-selection window...teddy..jimmy wrote:

No, clearly more needs to be said since they do exactly the same amount of damage. Sheeshelite.mafia wrote:

I think you missed what docnutz meant, if I read it right he said he uses the L96A1 for extreme-distance shooting because of its scope.Jemme101 wrote:

He concurs with what Longbow posted so also syaing the drop is more on the M24sws as compared to the L96A1.

Type 88 and L96A1 for me
Defending the AF on wake is fun with the 88. Most of the time i use the L96A1 though, long range of course. It's a beast 450m+, nothing can match it.

M24 SWS for 400 Metters and below L96A1 for 400 Metters and longer.
I really think it comes down to personal prefrence, i started with the M24 as i found the scope position to be good about 3 pixles above the target for long distance, im still getting use to the L9. And remmber there is no bullet drop!

~ Do you not know that in the service … one must always choose the lesser of two weevils?
Never got the hang of that gun. GJR3v4n wrote:

FFS, this isn't rocket science people... spread the word: all rifles have the same bullet drop.
The l9 is for pussys that have no skill
you can compare the l9 with teh g63e , pkm , f2000
only the ones how can shoot with EVERY Sniper rifle may use the l9
and then its still a shame

There is no better gun in the game. Its about how you use the gun, and your effeciency as a sniper. But what do I know ?
So what yor saying is that you have to use a bad weapon to have skill??ReDmAn_ThE_uNiQuE wrote:

I`m sorry but your a dick, you take the best weapon available, there are no prizes for getting your arse wooped because you were using a bad weapon. You might aswell just go round with a pistol just to prove your skill! People won`t think "ooh isn`t he skillfull", they`ll think "what a dick, bang your dead".

L96. Smaller crosshairs, and just feels 'right'.
I dont like either of them, the only sniper rifle I like is the M95. But then, im not a sniping player - I only use the kit on the odd occasion. And every time, its the M95. The others just dont seem to register hits.
I like both rifles really, its a tough call. The M24 is always a good pick, but sometimes I like to use the L96 just for the sound it makes.
