With so many post-election "alright you won a bit, now what?" posts, I thought I'd make one that actually categorized thoughts on it.

everything will be deadlocked with pointless investigations into half-assed accusations for the next two years, the only things that will make it out of the house are bills raising taxes, punishing people for doing business, and rewarding crack whores with free health care

It's not about democrat and republican anymore.  They are all controlled by special interest groups and lobbyists.  If you ended the influence of those two groups in the government, then things would probably get better.  As it is now, it's the few running the many (in reference to the special interest groups, not one party or the other).

Alright, as of this post: 40% think it'll change slightly for the better, 60% think it will for the worse, or not at all. What a strong show of moral support for the Dems.

Sorry, no guns available for that.  Newly elected Dems eliminated the 2nd Amendment because guns are evil (besides when our bodyguard carry them of course).

I feel that the benefits given to the unlucky far outweigh the absurd losses when people abuse the system.

Amen Brotha, amen.
Were you two complaining when the Republicans wasted time on useless investigations to impeach Clinton, and never managed to? Hypocrits.

Let me rephrase....  "pointless investigations for two years" is what described the Monica Lewinsky trial.  Sure, you had evidence, but was it really worth a billion dollars of taxpayer money investigating an affair that you already knew was true?  I'm not excusing Clinton's perjury, but it should never have come to that anyway.

By the way, you seem to have very little faith in Bush's ability to veto.  Do you really think Bush would let the Democrats raise taxes or institute socialized healthcare?  I don't think so.  The Democrats now serve as a balance to the power of Bush.  For 6 years, there was no balance.

god do we need a whole seperate thread just to remind everyone the clinton impeachment started when he lied about lewinsky after having her help cover his ass in a sexual assault case (one of many in his history), what happened to the party of equal rights?

I'm now sure how it got started in this thread, exactly, and I'm too tired to find out. Ugh.
