Bush's balls have officially been cut off, he no longer has the house or senate.

He is now all alone in washington.

After seeing the ease with which Bush dumped Rumsfeld, I predict that within a year and a half Cheney will be gone.  He will submit his resignation due to continual health issues and bush will nominate John McCain as the new Vice President.  McCain will easily be confirmed by congress and will be in the best position possible for '08.

I think this will happen because:

a.  Cheney is unelectable on his own

b.  The National Neo-Con movement is dead.  This sect of the GOP is over. Those of it's ilk are not electable.  McCain is not a Neo-Con.

c.  The only hope the GOP has of keeping the white house red is to move their party back to the center.

d.  People currently in office are always better canditates for their parties.  A VP canditate is a sort of half incumbent.

e. McCain would make a better Senate President than Cheney.  Cheney is a very devisive figure, McCain is much less unpleasant to democrats.  And it would keep McCain in the national spotlight.

I'd like to hear your thoughts/suggestions

Nixon's VP, Spiro Agnew, resigned in 1973.

It wouldn't matter to Bush, it would benefit the GOP
