Why do people think that there will be great reform in Congress with "Democrats" controlling the House?

Who said there will be great reform? There will be congressmen and women again, finally..and they'll actually have to work. The 109th congress has the worst voting record and worst attendence record EVER. The 110th need only legislate and petition like they're supposed to. They will also be interrogating Bush, Cheney & co over the war so that alone is praiseworthy. It's a requirement to do so based on the war powers act and republicans failed to do it for the last 3 years.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

Well Laws are created in the House. That's first off. And if the 6,000 vote lead stays once the absentee ballots are counted in Virginia, then the Democrats will also have the Senate.
Laws are written and then voted upon. Since Democrats have the majority they also control all the commitee chairs too. Surpreme Court judges are elected by congress...with the Democrats in control you won't see someone like Aleto on the court.
The question is with so many blue-dog Democrats (moderates), elected in this election, will Nancy Palosi, a San Francisican Democrat (very liberal), moderate her views?
