Well...probably the EU, China, US and maybe India if they don't decide to nuke Pakistan and get every Islamic nation on their ass.
Of course, looking at things now. There's somewhat of an Alliance between the EU, US and India which seems to be getting stronger. So i still think that China won't become the supreme overlord of the earth like it is now with the U.S.A

I think a "multi-power" thing will be the case...lots of powers; China, EU, USA, maybe Russia, maybe India...

The islamic countries in the middle east will "die" when they run out of their oil supplies (Thats the reason why they want to have nukes). Atm they can put pressure on us because we need their oil. The US is getting a much more bigger national debt and will lose eventually their military power and lose the power for political pressure. The EU will get stronger, but never a strong union.
China's economy is expanding to fast atm and will collapse.
Russia will get my vote on this matter. They were big, the almost lost it all, but they have the power to become a superpower again

Difficult choice. I went with China though, because their mic of market economy and planned economy seems to be working, and they have a net surplus on their financial commitments, and have good growthrates in BNP, manpower and military spending. Someone mentioned India, and I believe they WILL try to keep up with China militarily, but I doubt they can keep up financially. A lot of change in the way China is governed will need to be done before the world will trust them as a "superpower", but They're moving in the right direction. Resources would seem to be a problem as China is now importing a lot of resources, but as long as they have the money to buy that and still make a profit from subsequent sale, I dont see that as a huge problem. After all, it's not that far to Russia or India who have lots of resources and are willing to sell.
Now why dont I believe that the US will "stay in power". Well, they will, but the current decline in standard of living, increase in energy usage, increase of national debt, these things push the US to the brink of financial disaster. Maintaining their "world leadership" should, in order to keep the standard of living, take second place. However, out of "civic responsibility", I doubt the US WILL give up before they're happy with the "new" superpower. Ofcourse a lot will be about pride and politics, not human beings, so this will depend on the political thinking in the next 20-30 years.
Then what of the EU. Well, they're simply to fragmented to take unilateral action. Everything must be processed in a comitee. This is no way to become a superpower. Even when war happened on the Balkans, the EUs own backyard, bordering a couple of major EU members, NOTHING happened untill the US stepped in. And I dont see this trend as changing. In the minds of Europeans, the EU is about trade and partnership. They will not act in unison unless attacked/provoked, and this unity will collapse once a war is "over".

China got loads of oil from Africa after signing that 1.9B $ in trading deals supplying loans and investing in their infrastructure, they even have large inventments in the US. So far i say China. despite their height and strange food habbits.

The US will own all passage to Gold Oil and Drug (G.O.D.) within the next year. Once the US has these under control, China, yes a RICH country, will begin buying OIL from the US. China doesn't have the resources to become great so they will have to start buying from the US, in turn making the US and even richer country. Russia is a very poor country at the moment but def. has the potential to be great again (they do front very well) but never to the stint it was once, the US will ensure that. The world may be looked at as one UN collection but the US will dictate that just as they do today.

LOL@U read don't try and diagnos what I said. Take the facts out of it, the US is the SUPER POWER and they will stay that away for a long time. The US looses more troops to friendly fire then anybody out there at the moment can give them and they plan on keepomg it that away. Nobody wants to see there kids come home in a body bag. All Americans have the dream that thier child will be the next great American hero.
