Yep. Exactly. We eat DNA all the time in everything that's not processed to all buggery. People seem to think that just because GMOs have a slightly different genome to the wild type organisms it's some weird monstrosity and if you eat it you will turn into one of 'them', or something. I don't know what goes through these peoples heads. And the funny thing is, in my experience anyway, the people who are against GMOs because they are 'un-natural' are all on drugs...
The biggest problem I can see with GMOs is that large multinational companies that own the patent on the genes being modified/inserted will get very rich. And the farmers will keep having to pay them because these companies make certain that the seeds they sell grow into plants that don't produce offspring. But let's face it, the current situation means that companies get rich selling insecticide etc.... Six of one or a half dozen of the other...
I hope they don't change red meat to have none of the bad fats... that's what makes it taste so good.
